Fresh kitchen adventure

 

I wanted to try something new.  I had some ageing dried yeast in the cupboard, so this morning I decided to attempt to make my first Kugelhopf Cake.  The experience seemed to go well …

As anyone can see, I used a plain cake tin because I didn’t have the ‘proper’ kugelhopf mold.  The result looks good enough to persuade me to buy the real thing.  And when I make my next one, I’ll post the recipe that I use.

T S Eliot’s advice to people my age seems appropriate: “Old men ought to be explorers”.
